The Armor of God

Warning!  A battle is brewing for the hearts and souls of America and the world.  All Biblical Christians must put on their full armor in preparation for the fight to come.  Do not be unprepared for this battle. Your enemy is already well entrenched, and he stands ready to defeated you if you are not fully battle equipped.

“Be self-controlled and alert.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.  Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings” 1st Peter 5:8-9 NIV.

The Armor of God

Biblical Christian: Are You Prepared to do Battle for God and Country?

When you accepted the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ and prayed the “sinner’s prayer” you made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.  By your acceptance, God’s Holy Spirit was given to you, and He now lives in you.  The Holy Spirit is your comforter, and He will lead you to all wisdom and knowledge but only if your self-will allows.  It is important that you understand this indwelling of the Spirit because if you do not allow the Holy Spirit to lead, teach and direct you, you will not inherit the kingdom God.
Many who call themselves Christian but who do not live and walk in the Spirit given to them by God, have no knowledge of God.  You may be one of those who accepted the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ but who failed to hear the Holy Spirit’s beckoning either through ignorance, lack of faith, refusal or the everyday cares of this materialistic world.  If you are without the Spirit, you have lost the battle.  As we are told in Ephesians 6:12 NIV, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms…”
For those who claim Biblical Christianity, now is the time to stand firm in your faith for as told by Isaiah, “If you will not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all” Isaiah 7:9 NIV.  In this day and hour when Biblical Christianity is under assault, are you prepared to stand? Mere Christianity has already been defeated, but Biblical Christianity has not.
To take your stand, you must put on the full “Armor of God” that is described in Ephesians 6:10-18—Truth, Righteousness, Readiness, Faith, Salvation, Word of God, and Prayer.  Do you have your armor and are you ready to stand?  If you do not “wear” all of your armor you are defenseless against the spiritual forces that are working to destroy all goodness and Godly living.  Understanding and applying the following seven armaments in your life is vital to living a victorious life in Jesus Christ:
  • “…Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free’” John 8:31-32 NIV.

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6 NIV.

King David wrote, “All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal” Psalms 119:160 NIV.

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God…”Galatians 2:20 NIV.  If you will claim this TRUTH, God’s Holy Spirit will indwell you.  If God’s Spirit lives in you then it is true that “all things are possible for those who love Him.”

  • “The righteous will live by faith” Romans 1:17 NIV.

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” 2nd Corinthians 5:21 NIV.

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up, according to their needs…” Ephesians 4:29

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice” Ephesians 4:31 NIV.

“Be imitators of God…and live a life of love…But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people” Ephesians 5:1-3.

“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires: to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God (“When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God” Genesis 5:1 NIV) in true righteousness and holiness” Ephesians 4:22-24 NIV.

As a follower of Jesus Christ, you must set yourself apart from the idolatry and sexual immorality that plagues the majority of America’s so called “Christians.”  Wake up “Christian” America before it is too late!

  • “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” 1st Peter 3:15 NIV.  Always be prepared to share the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ.

Closet Christianity kept me from sharing the Good News of the Gospel for too many years.  I professed Jesus Christ, but I did not fully possess Jesus Christ.  Do not let this become your plight. God’s Holy Spirit will empower you if you will accept Him.  Cast fear aside and walk in the Spirit.  Become “salt and light” to the lost (those without Jesus Christ) and step out of the closet in boldness and proclaim the Good News!

  • “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” Hebrews 11:1 NIV.

“…without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” Hebrews 11: 6 NIV.

“In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence” Ephesians 3:12 NIV.

What measure of faith do you have?  Do you have only a small amount or do you possess faith that can move mountains?  You must exercise your faith.  Every time the Holy Spirit is leading you to step out, just do it.  The exercise of your faith will make it grow.  It may just be in small steps at first, but it will become giant steps when you truly trust and obey the commands of your Lord and Savior.

  • Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” Acts 4:12 NIV.

“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation.  Having believed the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory” Ephesians 1:13-14 NIV.

Jesus is the only way to God; if you believe otherwise then you are not a child of God and you will not inherit eternal life.  Salvation is a free gift from God.  Jesus Christ accepted your sins and the sins of the world.  He gave His life for you and died on a Roman cross.  But death could not hold Him and He arose from death and the grave to set you free from the guilt and bondage of a sinful world.  Accept His grace and claim His free gift of Salvation.

  • WORD of GOD:

The Bible is the revealed Word of God to man and is the Biblical Christian’s roadmap—To complete life’s journey you must have this map.  In it you will find the TRUTH.  Do not let Satan deceive you.  The Bible is only a work of fiction to those who do not believe; their eyes are blinded to its TRUTH. To those who have faith and believe, its secrets will be revealed.  You must read and study the Word of God.  Without the Word you will not be equipped to ward off the “flaming arrows” of Satan.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 NIV.

“For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” Hebrews 4:12-13 NIV.

  • “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus…” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV.

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness” 1st Timothy 2:1-2 NIV.

“…the Spirit helps us in our weakness.  We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.  And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will” Romans 8:26-27 NIV.

Prayer is powerful.  While it is beneficial to set a specific time in your daily routine to pray and communicate with God, prayers and petitions can be made to God at any time.  For the modern generation, you can “Twitter” with God at any time.  In fact, the more you twitter the better your communications with God will become.  “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” Ephesians 6:18 NIV.

There is coming a time, in my opinion, when even those who claim Biblical Christianity will be tested.  In fact, Jesus said: “At that time (the end of the age) many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved” Matthew 24:10-13 NIV, emphasis in quotation is authors. Is your love for your fellow brethren and man growing cold?

Biblical Christians must, must put on the full Armor of God.   Are you equipped for battle with your full set of armor? If you do not have your full set you will be defeated. Study the Scriptures and let God talk to you.  God gave His followers the power of His Holy Spirit.  Seek the Spirits guidance, wisdom and knowledge.  Remember, “The one that is in you (God’s Holy Spirit) is greater than the one (Satan) who is in the world” 1st John 4:4 NIV, emphasis by author.

It is time to STAND in the firmness and fullness of your faith.  As written in the book of James, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  Come near to God and he will come near to you” James 4:7-8 NIV.
